Shoe for Veterans is dedicated to providing support and resources to our veterans. Our mission is to help veterans transition successfully into civilian life. While returning to their families and homes can be a cause for celebrations, for many veterans, it also can be a difficult process. One that can have serious consequences for their health and well-being. In fact, according to a 2019 survey, 47% of Post 9/11 Veterans rated their transition from military to civilian life as being “somewhat difficult” or “very difficult.” Including the Barriers of Attaining Employment.
Getting out doing things staying fit is partnering with your healthcare system. When you visit your local VA provider let them know what’s going and try to connect that feeling into communication, ask what you don’t know so that you do know. Having a balanced life with work home family partner will improve overall health at any point in life. You need to stay fit and aware to care for the ones you love. Personal safety is awareness. If your constantly on drugs and alcohol, not thinking on your feet you could put yourself and others in harm's way. Good nutrition, exercise coupled with proper sleep, limited smoking, alcohol and drug use. The veteran and his family or partner can live a healthy fulfilling lifestyle.
Stimulants can cause erratic behavior. Irrational thinking speaking words that aren’t understood. Overdoing drugs as Methamphetamine, OxyContin, Fentanyl, Heroin and Vicodin which are stimulants can stop the heart from functioning properly. Leading to an Overdose from an unbalanced use. Users need to have Naloxone or NARCAN a Nasal Spray on hand to reduce the opiate from the overdose.
How veterans apply drugs and alcohol to their lifestyle is crucial. How much and how often they use drugs, and alcohol can lessen their value to their family and friends. This is also determined by the type of illegal substance being abused. Drugs are money that can be spent on a quality lifestyle. Say drinking, that starts on the weekends, expands to weekdays and is now a bad habit. DUI fighting being fired from work is just not a happy person. How drugs and alcohol is applied to the veteran life can determine success and happiness. A risky lifestyle that is less lived is safer than a riskier lifestyle that could get you into trouble and forever. Use responsibly or not at all. Click below to determine your Level
Veterans that use illegal drugs for long periods develop a dependency and tolerance for the drug. When the human body develops a tolerance to illegal substances it tells the user that they need more of the substance. Thus, it costs more money for the drug and not into a healthy lifestyle. When you receive your work, you check there are bills to pay, rent, lights, cellphone your healthy lifestyle. If you put the buying of this illegal substance first your life is second to addiction. Drug and alcohol dependence are physical and mental aspects of movement. Movement is what you do with your time, if you’re chasing an illegal drug, first off it is illegal and if you continue to chase it you will soon move an addiction to legal problems. Police are going to intervene, turning your life into further chaos.
In review, briefly stating drugs are bad for the body, the veteran, that overuse illegal substances, that it will offset the natural life balance. Meaning you throw away a job a life bills the norm struggle to chase an illegal substance that is killing you. Illegal drugs are bad, but it is how it is applied to the lifestyle which makes overuse unhealthy. Bills rent car payments, credit, your name needs to be managed by the veteran, you. You need to take care of your mental and physical health every day and by doing that you need to be at work or in school, growing a family, time management a schedule. Not some shot-out bum. But if you want to party use wisely never at work or on weekdays. Your day off is your day and if you’re abusing not using drugs when you should be sleeping preparing for the next day. You’re bound to fail, entering addiction and the Justice System. The Justice System isn’t forgiving while administering punishment it stays on your name. It will follow. So, use it wisely. Drugs and Alcohol!

Don’t forget using illegal drugs is a risk. The more time you spend around it, remember, it is illegal and will increase the chance of you failing. One arrest for something let’s say a Joint on you, which is now legal. You’ll have that same one joint the rest of your life with you. Please as a vet to vet stay away from the Justice system. Focus on living a healthy balanced lifestyle. Now let’s talk about Paranoia. Paranoia is a poor mental state meaning that something is chasing you. Let’s start from the beginning with friends’ family too and you’re introduced to an unknown substance that will affect your psychosis. Make you happier about yourself and life. Start out with a nice buzz and years months later you need it every day. The supply chain is policed by law enforcement.
Know that dude you scored those drugs from? They are possibly selling the drug for the Police. Unknown to you is that the other day he was arrested for selling drugs and now is an informant. Or the police, you know the spot, you know what the spot is, where you get drugs. Law enforcement has the area under surveillance as you pull up to score, as you get a few blocks away you get stopped, with an out-tag light. They saw you a long time ago, they outed your tag light. Now back to your friends, when you dial your dealer phone number the police are on their phone, the dealer, once you call them the dealer, you’re in that network. Over seen by Police. And you’re addicted constantly in need of the drug meaning you’re being watched managed by the Police unknown to you. Which means paranoid somebody is watching you. If your paranoid in my definition the police after your ass if using illegal substances. Live a healthy balanced life, use all what life has to offer carefully and spend your time wisely. I recommend school, work or family are the best options. One or the others all if you can handle it but live productively. If you want to party, then party responsibly as you live responsible. For you and yours.
If you weren’t born with Mental Illness and is Diagnosed with Mental Illness. You aren’t paranoid, someone is behind or praying on you and needs to be careful. Look at what you’re doing too and why they’re after you. Drug Abuse is no laughing matter, know what you’re doing and where you’re going.
